METHODOLOGY.

INUINDEX is a curated-universe ranking, not a symbol search. A token enters the candidate universe only after its exact Solana mint is verified. That matters because names and tickers can be duplicated freely.

1. ELIGIBILITY GATES

VERIFIED MINTThe exact Solana mint must be manually added to the registry from a trusted source.
AGEDefault minimum: 48 hours since the selected market pair was created.
LIQUIDITYDefault minimum: $25,000 of reported USD liquidity on the deepest Solana pair.
VOLUMEDefault minimum: $25,000 trailing 24-hour volume.
VALUATIONTrue market cap is required by default. FDV does not silently substitute for market cap.
FRESHNESSStale or unavailable market data fails the live gate rather than becoming zero.

2. ON-CHAIN SAFETY

Beyond market data, every candidate's mint is inspected directly on Solana via RPC. Mint configuration changes far less often than price, so this is cached aggressively and refreshed periodically.

MINT EXISTSThe account must exist on mainnet and be an SPL Token or Token-2022 mint. A nonexistent or non-mint address fails.
MINT AUTHORITYBy default the mint authority must be revoked, so new supply cannot be minted. Configurable via REQUIRE_MINT_AUTHORITY_REVOKED.
FREEZE AUTHORITYBy default the freeze authority must be revoked, so holder accounts cannot be frozen. Configurable via REQUIRE_FREEZE_AUTHORITY_REVOKED.
TRANSFERABLENon-transferable (soulbound) tokens fail. So do tokens that freeze accounts by default or pause transfers.
TOKEN-2022Token-2022 is allowed by default and is not treated as unsafe. A legitimate transfer fee is reported, not rejected — ALLINU and Stonk-ecosystem tokens can deliberately use transfer mechanics. Set ALLOW_TOKEN_2022=false to require classic SPL.
UNKNOWN ≠ PASSIf the RPC is unreachable the mint is marked UNKNOWN, never silently passed. Transfer fees, hooks, and permanent delegates are surfaced on each token page so holders can judge them.

3. RANKING

Tokens that pass every gate are ranked by true market cap, descending. A tie is broken by higher USD liquidity, then higher 24-hour volume. The first five are the current Top 5. If only three pass, INUINDEX shows three.

4. INDEX PERFORMANCE

The five current constituents are displayed at equal 20% tracking weight. The 24-hour index change is the arithmetic mean of their individual 24-hour price changes when all five observations exist. The persistent index level starts at 100 and chains forward from stored snapshots using equal-weight price returns.

When Top-5 membership changes between snapshots, only continuing constituents (in the previous Top 5 and still in the current Top 5, with a valid prior price) contribute a return to that step. A name promoted from the #6–#10 watch list was never held by the index, so it enters like any other new member and adds no return that step. New entries join the basis for the next step without inventing a return for a name that was not held; drops simply stop contributing. If the entire Top 5 turns over at once, the level carries forward unchanged rather than fabricating a jump. Historical index levels are never reconstructed from present-day market data — the only past inputs are the stored previous level and stored prices.

If DEX Screener is unavailable, the site shows the last stored snapshot clearly marked STALE and never relabels stale data as live. Missing observations are shown as unavailable, never as zero.

This is a tracking statistic, not a net asset value. $INUINDEX does not hold or redeem for the constituents.

5. DATA

Market data comes from DEX Screener's Solana token endpoint. When a mint has several pools, INUINDEX selects the Solana pool with the greatest reported USD liquidity, then uses volume as a tie-breaker. Registry identity and market data are separate by design.

6. CHANGES

Eligibility thresholds can be tightened as the Inu market matures, but the live site exposes the active thresholds. A rule change should be announced rather than silently retrofitted into historical data.

REWARD ENGINE WEIGHTING

Ranking decides who is in the index. Liquidity decides how much the reward engine can safely buy. Each epoch freezes the qualifying Top 5 at its snapshot; ranking changes during the epoch apply to the next one. The standards above are never lowered to fill five seats: if three tokens qualify, an epoch has three constituents.

Target weightsProportional to pool liquidity, clamped between a minimum and maximum weight per constituent, summing to 100%.
Safety capsNo purchase may exceed a small, configurable share of a pool's liquidity or 24h volume. Excess is redistributed to constituents with headroom; whatever cannot be placed safely stays in the treasury.
Execution limitsEvery quote is checked against the maximum slippage and price impact and simulated before it is sent. A quote over a limit is skipped and the reason recorded; limits are never widened to use the budget.
Unsafe tokensConstituents with token extensions that make buying and airdropping unsafe (transfer hooks, permanent delegates, non-transferable, frozen-by-default, pausable) are not purchased.
